Google Wave initial thoughts
In my first impression, Google Wave is not meant to be
- a mass social media tool.
- a gossip channel
- a spy on ‘friends’ or celebrities tool
It is
- useful for a smaller network of people you actually interact with. It would be similar to your BlackBerry Messenger list.
- a collaboration tool
- a conversational way to form ideas or discuss events
- a multimedia conversation collaboration tool
I don’t really have anyone to wave with since the people I work with did not get invitations. I did have one Wave with the famous-to-geeks Robert Scoble. He had this to say about Wave.
I actually do look forward to having conversations and creating ideas this way. I just hope Google doesn’t steal those ideas!
