  Yahoo begins rolling out social, extensible e-mail inbox 

  

  Human interaction is increasingly diversifying. We post photos to Flickr, family members leave comments, and friends reply to our latest Tweets. Yahoo recognizes this shift and has begun rolling out a new “smarter inbox” that melds social tools and even opens up to third-party applications, all in an effort to help Yahoo Mail users get more done with the people they know.

  I like this direction. More companies should be following the trajectory.

  A few months ago, [Wolf] predicted Canada’s housing market is following the same troubled path that eventually led the United States market into a major downturn, but with a two-year lag.

  He noted that U.S. resale home prices accelerated through 2005, peaked in early 2006 and have declined ever since. Meanwhile, Canadian resale home prices accelerated through 2007, peaked in early 2008 and have been falling.

  He has also challenged the prevailing view that Canada’s housing and mortgage markets are more stable than their U.S. counterparts, warning that households in this country are so indebted that it’s only a matter of time before we see a major downturn here as well.
