summertime
Summertime in seattle reminds me of summertime in toronto. The weather’s nice and there’s always outdoor activities. As you might recall, I interned at amazon in the summer of 2004. One of the things I loved about it was the summertime sports. Back then, I played basketball, broomball, and dodgeball. This year I’m doing those three plus volleyball. I haven’t played volleyball in a few years, so I’m lucky I’m not playing against super athletes. I am rusty, but today we won! I managed to get a bunch of blocks and hits … one hit included a stomach catch… anyways that was fun…
Work has been work…lots to do and there’s always pressure when you’re trying to release a product. In fact, CNET leaked the other day a story about Amazon’s digital video project. It is interesting working at a place where stories about your work hit major news sites. Of course I don’t do everything, there’s a huge team that has been putting a lot of hours to get this product launched successfully.
In other news, you might recall that I won an award from work a couple of months ago. My prize was a trip to Hollywood for two to watch the taping of Amazon fishbowl. Initially, I was going to take my parents, but they’re plans changed. So instead, I’m taking my fiancee, Dylan. It should be a fun trip, but Dylan and I seem to always go to LA. Anyways, I’m excited to go and also see my cousins again too.
It’s been very quiet here lately. It must be the registration and the fact that it’s not quite easy to post here as it was before. That work is on my backlog and I hope to get to it soon. There are only so many hours in a day and I try not to waste a second of it. Thoughts and actions move at speeds fast enough to make hours feel like seconds. That’s enough theory of relativity to make me fall asleep. Good night!
